Crak Brand: Bucket Feet

What started from a Twitter(@ItsCrak) follow lead to this interview. I saw the description of themselves on their Twitter and saw they made custom sneakers. Being the sneaker head/fiend that I am, I dived further into the Bucket Feet world and saw that their not just a brand. Not only do they customize their own sneakers, with every purchase they donate 5% to charity. Not a bad deal if you ask me. Read on and find out more about Bucket Feet. 




Crak: Tell Us about the first sneaker Bucket Feet created?
Bucket Feet: There really are two stages of BucketFeet: the stage when I was drawing on shoes in college and the stage we're at now, mass-producing and selling online. The first model I ever did was on a pair of Vans, it was a design I had always drawn, ever since I was a little kid doodling in class. I posted the photo on Facebook and got a great response. That's why we're doing what we're doing now!

Crak: What goes into creating a shoe for Bucket Feet?
BF: Oh man, so much! It really boils down to choosing designs, colors and materials. I have a huge repertoire of designs in the wings that I'm ready to unleash.


Crak: What was it about Buenos Aires, Argentina that inspired you?
BF: Buenos Aires is an amazing, vibrant city. I think the people I met and the lifestyle I lived made creating these shoes a real joy. It's a crazy place.


Crak: What type of people you find most wear Bucket Feet?
BF: No real answer for this. We've had Raaja's(Co-Owner Of Bucket Feet) old uncles and aunties wearing them. We've had turf dancers from East Oakland, California wearing them. Anyone from anywhere, really. If we did have one target demographic, it would be people between the ages of 18 and 30 who want to make a statement but also just like wearing something different and new.

Crak: I see you guys work with a lot of organizations and charities. How did you guys become involved and how could one become involved?
BF: My business partner, Raaja, and I met volunteering with kids in Argentina. Had we not done that, we wouldn't have teamed up and started this business for real. As far as getting involved, you should get a pair of our shoes! 5% of all proceeds go to some amazing groups.


Crak: How could an artist become apart of Bucket Feet?
BF: We are currently in the sampling stages of our first guest-designed shoes right now. We are always taking on new artists to be showcased on the site so please feel free to send an email to info@bucketfeet.com if you are interested!


Crak: What do you look for in an artist?
BF: No one thing, really. Personality, creativity, style. We really like to tap into artists from little known places too, so if there is someone from say, Equatorial Guinea, we'd jump at the chance to showcase them!

Crak: What is the ultimate goal for Bucket Feet?
BF: To sell awesome products, have happy customers, and to hopefully make a difference in the lives of needy children and undiscovered artists.


Crak: Where do you see yourself and Bucket Feet in 5 years from now?
BF: We have a lot of tricks up our sleeves, guess you'll have to wait to find out. No but for real, we want to be a full-fledged apparel brand and keep innovating. We're excited for what's to come.

The T-Shirt that started it all...

While doing some Spring cleaning this past weekend, I came across this shirt. My girlfriend said "should we put this to be donated?" :Screaming: :Shocked look on my face: "Are you out your fucking mind?" lol. Thats when I explained the story of this shirt to her and now I will explain it to you. I had originally seen this Capitol shirt about 2-3 years ago on Karmaloop.Com, mind you at the time Karmaloop wasn't what it is today. Matter a fact the website wasn't that popular yet at least not to what it is now. While searching through the site I came across this Shirt, not recognizing the brand name or anything I remember going crazy, but the idea of online shopping at the time didn't grasp me. Originally I thought it was a Nike shirt, so I went to every mall that I could travel too, every Foot Locker, Champ Sports, Etc. To no avail they didn't have the shirt(you should have seen these peoples faces when I asked about it). Finally I had went right back to Karmaloop to find out that the shirt was sold out!! Down on my luck I sent them a message on Myspace(You can tell this was long ago lol), and they actually answered saying "Usually we don't do this, since the t-shirt is sold out, but since you came to us directly, you can purchase it here *insert Ebay Link*" In excitement I pulled the money out of my pocket and remember paying a friend to purchase it for me using their credit card. Within a few days I had the shirt and I immediately threw it on, while walking down the block I kept hearing people laugh, saying "Oh shit", it was the first time I ever wore something that caught so much attention. Long story short, this Capitol t-shirt was the first "Street Wear" clothing I've ever had, before then I never heard of "Street Wear", let alone wore "Street Wear", I was use to wearing LRG and whatever brands were dope at the time. Now present day me now has a plethora of Street Wear brands in my closet. Shout outs to Capitol they introduced me to Street Wear and for that I thank them.
