Sneaker Pimps NYC 2010 Re-Cap

A couple weeks back I stumbled upon a flier for an event called Sneaker Pimps on some website(totally forgot the name). Got souped,excited, calmly purchased my tickets and counted down the days until the date! After a long period of waiting and a venue change later the day finally comes, and me and Asia decided to make a whole day out of it. We traveled to New York by train and had an early dinner date at the BEST Chinese food place I've ever eaten at named "Hop Key" located in the heart of China Town. We ordered Duck, Spring Chicken, Rice, and Dumplings, let's just say I didn't have to eat the rest of the duration of the night. After dinner we took a walk through Soho, Noho, and a little bit through the Village, stopped in a few spots just to kill a little time before the event. Even made a stop in Toysrus Time Square for some candy and a quick photo-op. Now on to the event, I have to say the event was amazing! Got to preview the new NBA Jam that just recently dropped which wasn't that bad but somehow didn't live up to the original NBA Jam from Years past. The location of the event was great except the Venue was a little small and packed which made going to see the brands and sneaker art work almost impossible without bumping into four people and stepping on someone's Jordan's. The performances kicked off with an artist from Austin,TX by the name of Kid, dude did his thing, next performers were a group by the name of Rocky Business and they performed more like a rock band then a Hip Hop group. Next up was Diggy Simmons who we all know is a monster and honestly I was more souped for his performance more then anything, and he did not disappoint(Even though it was hard to snap a picture of him), and of course the Headliner Rick Ross came through and did his thing. It was a great night for Hip Hop Heads and Sneaker Heads alike. Peep the Pictures below:
